We stayed overnight due to weather delays at the airport - motel locally recommended - the rooms were very clean, and the service personal and friendly. Nothing was out of place. We needed an early morning computer link for aviation flight briefing, and it was provided happily. We would be pleased to return and thank the managers for all their help. Last weekend i visited Cowra, staying at the Country Gardens Motor Inn. I was welcomed with a smile, a given a detailed overview on the regions tourism highlights and handed the keys to my contemporary, clean and comfortable room for the weekend. The new flat screen tele's were a welcome addition to the usual standard box type set up. I was impressed with the hospitality given by owners Thelma and Andrew. Nothing was too much trouble, a welcoming for a weary traveller! Their enthusiasm about their business and Cowra's offerings was applaudable. I would seriously advise a the full breakfast. Yum! Talk about cooking up a storm above and beyond expectations! I have recommended this establishment to work collegues who visit the area on promotional duties. And to all of you who are visiting the area, only a short 3 minute taxi ride into the centre of town, yet a 'million hours away' from the noise and hustle and bustle that a Friday and Saturday night may provide in a counrty town. A nice place to stay in Cowra is the Cowra Gardens Motor Inn. The Executive rooms are very spacious modern and come with a king size bed and double sofa, plus comfortable chairs and breakfast table. Our room had a huge window which looked over a very nice garden setting. The advantage of this motel is the fact that it is situated on the Grenfell Rd - so very quiet compared to the other places around town. The pool area is private too and their is a nice area for alfresco dining. No restaurant though. Nice breakfast. Plunger coffee and very generous with coffee, jams, butter etc. Nice shampoos. Even face washers supplied Restaurants to chose from in Cowra inlcude Neila (not open every night so do reserve in advance), the Vines at the Imperial Hotel or Vinces Asian Restaurant. Nice comfortable accommodation on western side of town. New owners are very friendly and helpful. We stayed there on the way back to Darwin from car races at Bathurst and ended up staying an extra night. Has a heated pool, pleasant gardens and views over pastures. The satellite TV and data ports were both appreciated. |
